Re: IML: electrics

I had a similar problem with my 65, but it was more gradual.  Eventually, after 3 different automotive electricians came out to the house to try different approches, it turned out to be the ammeter in the dash.  The fusible link was changed twice, the battery changed twice, starter solenoid replaced, starter replaced..... the last guy came out, looked under the dash (and lauged at the other pros for not checking there first), bypassed the ammeter gauge and all was fine after that.  The guy also gave me a temporary voltage monitor that plugged into the cigarette lighter until I am able to replace the culprit.
Good luck!!
Eric

Subject: IML: electrics

Hy fellow Imperialists

Today I tried to start my 68 Imp. after a few years sitting in the garage.
When I connected the battery the dashboard and interior lights came on normally, but when I tried to start the engine I heard a noise and ALL electrics went down, now there is absolutely no current to anything, can anybody direct me to the shortest way to correct this problem, never before I have come across to something like this.

Appreciating your assistance and comments

Regards

Joachim from hot Melbourne, Australia
