Are you sure? Usually when these valves go bad, they either start to leak, or don't turn off completely. I would check several things first: Is the control cable attached - both to the dash lever and to the valve? Is there a blockage in the heater core (hook hoses up directly, by-passing valve to check). If the valve is being operated by the control lever and the heater core produces heat when by-passed, then indeed you may need a new valve. Alas, no new ones are available. It is possible to get usable used ones. The same basic valve was used on all Mopars from 1959-61, all Chryslers and Dodge 880's from 1962-64, and all Imperials to 1959-66. Also, there are several services that rebuild them. Good luck - winter is coming!
