1. Windshield washer pump - I've loosened the nuts that hold it to the firewall and removed the wire snap ring that appears to hold the half-dollar sized button onto the stem but I still can't remove the button to get the whole assembly out. Since my car is missing the button, I'd really like to get this out without damage.
2. Steering wheel - Two problems here - first I didn't bring a large enough socket for the nut at the end of the column (I'm guessing it is 1") which is easy enough to solve. Second, and the bigger problem, is that the steering wheel puller I have doesn't have bolts that will thread into the holes in the wheel. Does anyone know what the correct thread size and length is?
3. Belt line trim - I've been able to remove a fair number of the nuts holding the belt line trim onto both the front fenders and the rear quarter panels but I can't get at what appear to be additional nuts closer to the center of the car (in front, the rear foot or so of the fender - in back, the two feet under the rear window). Are these ends indeed held on with nuts or is there a different fastener used hear? How do I go about this without breaking or bending the trim?
4. Exterior window trim - I've been able to remove the sun visor and side trim in front and the top, side, and bottom overtrim in the rear but the bottom trim front and back is crimped around the window gasket. The FSM shows the use of some special tools but they don't show a picture of the tools so I don't even know where to begin. Anyone out there an auto-glass expert? I'm guessing these aren't Chrysler/Imperial specific tools, just general glazer's tools.
5. Rocker panel trim - I haven't even started on this yet but recall from other cars that this trim is usually held on with clips that require gently prying the trim either from the bottom or the top. Is this true of Imperials in 56 as well?
