You can get a rebuilt unit over the counter. Looks new, but they are not being manufactured new from 0 as far as I know. These are fairly common and not a challenge. Rob, I know that you're overseas. If you need help getting one, please write to me off-list. I have a source for most of the stuff you'd want for your car's mechanical needs and you can order things from him via fax or email. There may or may not be a core-charge, which is extra fee if you do not turn in your old one to replentish the supply of cores (so that they can rebuild your old one and resell it). The ND unit is truly new, as far as I know. -K --- Rob van der Es <r.vdes@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Hi all, > > Are new starter motors for our cars ( in this case a > 60 Imperial with a > 413 RB engine) still available then? > > Or are the old ones simply rebuild? > > Thanks, > > Robert > 1960 Imperial Crown > > > Op Do, 31 augustus, 2006 11:57 pm, schreef Kenyon > Wills: > > starters are a weak point on the RB engine.
