Hi Dwain, Not sure if this will help but I was able to use a 70s alternator on my '63 Dart. The alternators are almost the same but the early ones had a prong on one brush while the other brush was grounded. Later alternators had a prong on both brushes. I compaired the two and grounded one brush on the later alternator, connected the other prong to the single field wire and it worked great! I did this because the later alternator was 60 amp. After the swap, my car was charging great even when stopped in gear with the lights on. It was still working fine when I sold the car years later. Henry '61 Crown Conv.
