Hello, I was going to reply a couple of days ago,
TOO BUSY!! I have owned my 65 convertible since 1984, the top guide pins
were always loose. Well about ten years ago I thought I'd be smart and tighten
them up. Then I had a hard time putting the top up if the top would shrink a
little during the day.Trying to get the pins in the guides. So I loosened them
back how they were. No problems guiding them in
since. Rob Kidd 61/65

I've learned to like a little looseness there, myself.
It's probably necessary to remove the top from the front bow to get at the
back of the pins to react the nut torque - not worth doing until the top needs
replacement IMHO. jc
