I did this on my ’64 Lin**** convertible one time. There is a rubber supplier here in Dallas (don’t remember where, I’d have to get in the car probably and just drive around till I found it). They were even open on Saturday. They sold rubber even in rolls, by the foot. I took a sample down there, and we found the right thickness and I bought it in half inch strips, or 1” strips – they were happy to cut me that much – and I paid ‘em and then glued it back into the channels after chiseling all the old stuff out. Then I just stapled to that (I am sure that’s how the Imperial top is held on too – big staples to that rubber you’re trying to replace.
So in any major city I would think this would be something easy to come by. I know it was down in the Brookhollow area (for those in the Dallas area, I think I was even right on Irving Blvd.).

Hi list I am also putting together a 1963 Imperial Crown convertible and my shop has a new top to put on, but they would like to replace the hard rubber weather stripping that is on the side rails. Also the header strip about the windshield. Has anyone been able to locate these parts from any supplier, or does anyone know if this top assembly crosses to any other makes of cars like Cadillac or Packard or Lincoln?
