The 100A alternators are very different in both looks and mounting from the 65's. To me they look more like a GM alternator, and are heavy. The 100's require different brackets, and beefier wiring. If you want more than 100 amps and to use your original brackets, look for one out of a later Dodge Ramcharger. They used a Nipondenso (sp?) built alternator that was something like 120 or 160 amps. They look similar to the 65A unit but smaller in diameter and with longer mounting ears. It might require some altering of the original bracket, but not completely different ones like the 100. And the wiring upgrades would be necessary with any higher amp alternator. I think I'll connect them (change temp switch)to come on any time the radiator temp is above 160 or 180. Keep the water cool. I understand the 100 amp alternator is the same as the 60... just better. Are the mounts the same? I can't tell from the specs. I think I need more amps if i run electric fans. > ----------------- http://www.imperialclub.com ----------------- This message was sent to you by the Imperial Mailing List.
