Self-Introduction: This is how I became INTRODUCED TO THE IMPERIAL!

Maybe 10 years ago, a friend & I were cruising around with nothing to do. We were in Farmingdale, Long Island - NY. In the industrial area near Wellwood Ave/Pinelawn Cemetary off Route 110. We decided to do some exploring and started to drive behind some commercial buildings.
It was a very dark parking lot. The weather was not that great earlier and there were spots of thick fog here and there. The headlights of the truck we were in scanned the area. As we were turning around, out of the darkness and fog appeared the first Imperial I ever saw in my life. All the light blue paint was faded & was in rough condition. It scared me half to death. It was huge and with the setting, it's presence seemed even more imposing. I froze in my seat & was scared to approach it. We were in a Ford Bronco at the time and even with our height & distance from this Imperial, I felt as though this car was going to come alive and eat us. The grill & headlights made a face. It was metal Jaws! I was terrified of it. My fears became a love and have not forgotten the vision of it to this day.

I did return to this Imperial the following day to get the VIN#. I did not know at the time what kind of car it was & I needed to know why this beautiful monster was left there. I did eventually get hold of the owner but I couldn't get a straight answer about the car & it wasn't for sale.
Then my hunt began. Based on pictures I've seen, I believe this car was a 1960 Imperial Crown or a 1961 Imperial Lebaron. One day I will have one.
