A recent flyer from Kruse indicates the 1966 Duesenberg prototype will be sold at the Labor Day Kruse Auction in Auburn Indiana. Get your bidding pass now. Using many bits of custom hardware also seen on the last Ghia limos, the 1966 Duesenberg was built by Ghia on a stretched 1966 Imperial chassis. Since the last Imperials previously bodied by Ghia were 20 1964 models made into limos (10 sold as 1965 models), this lone 1966 prototype is the final collaboration between Ghia and Imperial. Appropriately enough, the result was meant to become finest car in the world - a Duesenberg - but one has to wonder about the wisdom of designing a car (and business case) around a chassis that was going out of production in a few months. No wonder this revival never went beyond a single prototype! http://www.imperialclub.com/Yr/1966/Duesenberg/index.htm Chris H. 66 LeBaron __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
