Self-Introduction: I bought my first Imperial, a '65 Crown conv. in 1977. Due to the financial disaster of a divorce I had to trade it for the '61 LeBaron and CASH in 1983. I found the original title to the LeBaron under the layer of compost under the front seat and was able to discover the entire history of the car from the day it was new.(Dec. 22, 1960)It was a Dallas car with no rust anywhere! (I lived in Dallas for 35 years). The '59 LeBaron was a showroom model that did not sell and was first purchased in 1961 in Katy, Tx. It has every option available in '59 and only 62,000 miles. The body and chrome are beautiful but the interior was destroyed by its past use as a mechanical parts storage area. It has a long way to go. The '65 Crown conv. was a Richmond, Va. car that was well maintained throughout its life and is a joy to drive, with only a few minor blemishes, notably interior chrome pitting. The most common comment I have when I drive the '61 is "What year Cadillac is that?
s that?" Most of the non old-car public does not even know that Imperial existed. Over the years I have owned 10-12 Imperials, some drivers and some parts, ranging from a '55 sedan to a '68 Crown 4-dr. I have always been addicted to fine automobiles and also own 4 Chryslers, 2 Pierce-Arrows, and one Hudson.
