Re: IML: Turbine

It is one of the original 50. A few were preserved, but most of them were scrapped.

I believe that the Chrysler Turbine car is in the transportation museum in St. Louis. At least I saw it there about 7 years ago. Very intersting vehicle if you get a chance to see it. No Imperials there as I reacll.

My apologies in advance as this is probably old
news to everyone but I just today picked up the
March/April issue of Motor Trend Classic
magazine. There is a page long article about
Tom McCahill, long time car writer in years
past.

While the article doesn't mention anything
about Imperials or even Mopars, there is a
picture of Uncle Tom in a 1962 LeBaron, but
oddly no caption to it. My recollection is he
had a fondness for Chrysler products and ranked
the 1962 Imperial very highly and even used one
for his long road trips (see the 1962 page).

In the same magazine is a nice little article
with great photos of the 1964 Chrysler Turbine
Car..

I haven't had th e chance yet to reseal the trim
attachments on my roof spears and it started
raining pretty good last night....so the car
cover went back on. Looking at that big dirty
beige cover is inspiring me to get the roof
fixed fast.
