Re: IML: Undercoating removal

GREG,
I ONCE REMOVED ALL OF THE UNDERCOATING ON THE FRONT END OF MY '60 C---- BY SCRAPING AND DIGGING UNTIL I THOUGHT I WOULD SCREAM, AND THEN I GOT AN IDEA----I USED A PROPANE TORCH, WHICH MELTED THE UNDERCOAT QUICKLY AND, WHILE IT WAS WARM, IT CAME OFF WITH RELATIVELY NO HARD WORK.
LOTS OF NASTY AND A PROMISE TO NEVER DO IT AGAIN!

When I say covered you can barely make out the strap or that there is a nut on the threaded portion. My questions are; Is there a way to dissolve the under coating on this part of the strap so I can get a wrench or socket on it? Will I end up having to "chop" my way through it?
