RE: IML: 1962 Gas Tank Problem

I had the same problem on a 65 Imperial.  I ended up having to swap out the old tank for a new one, I purchased the new one at:

Subject: IML: 1962 Gas Tank Problem

I recently purchased a beautiful 1962 Southampton four door.  The car had sat for many years and apparently rust accumulated in the gas tank.  The tank was not leaking, but the inline fuel filter kept clogging up after drives of less than 100 miles.  I removed the tank and took it to a local radiator shop to be acid vatted and coated.  After vatting the tank, many tiny holes appeared.  Do any of you Imperial experts have any suggestions?  Does anyone make reproduction gas tanks?  Another used gas tank would probably be in the same or worse condition (the car is absolutely rust free and original, except for the paint).

By the way, I live in east Texas.

Thanks,

Richard
