RE: IML: Headliner Installation

Dan,

I haven't done an Imperial, but have done two A-bodies, a 67 Dart  and a 67 notchback Barracuda.  I was not pleased with either outcome, but that may be inexperience, impatience, inability, etc.

In both, I replaced old "dead" insulation with good quality carpet pad.  I used 3M spray adhesive to secure both.  One was over six years ago, the other about four years ago.  Neither has shown any evidence of coming loose.  The notchback went to Lafayette Louisiana with my daughter and the heat and humidity there didn't cause the adhesive to fail.

On the Dart, I used a recommended headliner adhesive along the edges, and was no more impressed with it.  I think the 3M spray is good.  Follow the directions.

Please post your thoughts on the SMS headliner kit.  I'll need one for the 67 I just bought, and for other A-bodies I have waiting in line.

Good luck.

Michael
