I've replaced a partially crushed oil pan on a 65 Imperial; I
accidentally lifted the car with a 2 ton jack and missed the cross member (hey,
it was hailing and I wasn't wearing my glasses).
Anyway, the FSM dictates removing the center link under the oil pan.
Once the center link is removed, drain / unbolt oil pan and
pull it backwards and down past center cross member. This procedure worked
fine and sure beat having to pull the motor. This 413 had been in the car
a month and I was just changing the oil for the first time since the rebuild;
thank goodness it was a friends car and not mine!

I need to replace my oil pan
gasket on my '65. Do I need to remove suspension parts? It
looks like it's in the way. Also, are those transmission lines in the
way, looks like it? Any tips or advice on sealants or whatever is
appreciated. Tony Hoppa 1965 Crown 4 Door
