The Ammeter on the '60 Imperial is not part of this system. Only the Oil Pressure, Temperature, and Fuel. Since your Fuel and Oil Pressure do not seem to work, it is possible that the jumper wire from the power output side of the Temperature gauge has become disconnected. I think you need to pull the cluster and check for loose connections.
The oil pressure sending unit is mounted on the top side of the back of the motor by the fire wall. It might be easier to replace that, and see if your Oil Pressure gauge comes up before pulling the cluster. For me either job is just about the same amount of work. Depends on whether your prefer under the hood or under the dash.

It makes a difference what you mean by "inop". Is the gauge stuck on E or F?
If on F, you probably have a short in the wiring.
