Re: IML: Parking Brake Vacuum Actuator & Parking Brake Vacuum Valve, for 78 NYB

Here are a few pages you might find useful. These are from the paring
brakes section of the 1976 Parts Catalog. I've only posted the images and
haven't yet formatted them into web pages but there aren't that many to look
at. You should be able to figure out your parts numbers from these pages.

Subject: IML: Parking Brake Vacuum Actuator & Parking Brake Vacuum Valve,
for 78 NYB

I have a vacuum leak, which you can hear coming from behind my dash.
Apparently, it is coming from the Parking Brake Vacuum Valve, which is on my
steering column. I have a tilt column. My mechanic looked at my 1978
Chassis-Body Service Manual, on page 5-33.

He says I need the (according to the manual terminology) Parking Brake
Vacuum Actuator, which sits right beside the foot pedal, in Fig. 7, and the
Parking Brake Vacuum Valve, which is attached to the steering column, in
Fig. 8.

The local dealers are not very helpful. Previously, one of them gave me an
incorrect part number, which led me to purchase the wrong part, in the past.
If someone could give me the correct part numbers, that would be a big help,
or, better yet, does someone have those parts and wish to sell them???? I
looked through my own collection of spare parts, without finding them.
