Yes, these cars were aimed at the very top of the prestige and luxury 
Market. If you compare the price to that of a Cadillac ElDorado, you will 
Be shocked to find that the 81-83 Imperial was a MUCH more expensive car! 
The difference is hard to explain, unless you happen to have owned both 
(which I did). The Eldo is long gone, but the 81 Imp will be around as long 
As I can drive. It is by far the most comfortable long distance tour car I 
Have ever owned.
