Bob, You didn't need to get any 1967 car smogged in CA in 1994. My Imperial is a 1967 model with regular black plates and it didn't need one then either. Your car was eligible for historical plates because it was 25 years old. At the time, it was also exempt from Smog Check for the same reason: because it was 25 years old (not because it had historical plates).
