Re: IML: Jay Leno Mentions Imperial no park?

Except for some floo-shift models in 1964 (Sport Fury, Polara 500), all
Chrysler automatics from 1956 through 1964 were pushbutton controlled.

The models with Lockheed brakes had no park position on the transmission but
had the emegency brake on the driveshaft behind the transmission.

Cars with Bendix brakes had the park position on the transmission but had
the emegency brakes on the reear wheels and not the driveshaft behind the
transmission. Bendix brakes, and the transmission park, were adopted in
1960 for the Valiant, 1961 for the Lancer, 1962 for the Plymouth, Dart and
Polara, and 1963 for the Imperial, Chrysler, and 880/Custom 880.
