My adapters have always worked well and I've never lost a tape to one.  I 
highly recommend one to keep your 8 Track deck in tact while still being 
able to enjoy music on cassette in your car.

    I used some of the adapters on family cars back in the '80s - in
general, I found them to be tape-eating junk. There might be good ones out
there, but I'd be careful.
