Nice to see you on the list.

If it were mine I would start with the belts/hoses under the hood.  Have the 
carb rebuilt(I'm sure the seals have dried out and any gas that was left in 
it has turned to varnish by now).  Then check the brake 
system(mastercyclinder, caliper, and any rubber hoses).

all this is in addition to oil, coolant, and blinker fluid levels.
