Believe it or not I use a mixture of distilled vinegar and warm water. This is how my mother made us clean the house windows when it was our chore to do so. (yes we had to do chores before we could get our allowance) Clean the glass using a sponge then dry it with newspaper. I also find it best not to work on the glass while the car is in the sun and hot. It's much better to work on it in the shade while the glass is cool.
