Yep, early on with my first Imperial. Glues, sealents,
etc. are futile.

When I bought that first Imperial, the '71 which is
now in the Elijah Scott Collection dontating parts to
his driver '71, the owner had wrapped the entire servo
in fiberglass!

It is the most desperate AutoTemp II servo repair I
have seen to date.

Before I knew about the aluminum servo, I took one of
my busted originals to various plastics people looking
for advice on repairs or having a new servo body
recast. One plastics rep looked at the servo and told
me that it was a paper-based plastic, a poor choice
for an environment that is hot, wet, and under
pressure.

The aluminum servo is a wonder. Right now, my '73
can't pull its own weight, but you can bet that the
AutoTemp is working like a champ.
