The push-buttons are all the same on the front(dash) end on the '61 through
'63, but the neutral button on the '63 is different- it has to have the
little tab at the back-end so it will be pulled in when the park-lever is
pulled down. That means the neutral-button on the '63 is a one-year-only
item. My tab broke a couple of years ago and I spent the better part of an
afternoon with Bob
Hoffmeister at his yard in Nebraska going through all the '63's trying to
find an unbroken one- and that is precisely what we DID find-ONE!
Trying to get the control-unit back in without breaking the replacement
button-tab was the really fun job; I finally drilled a 1/16th hole near the
end of the actuator slide and also in the plastic push-button end and put
them together with a very small cotter-pin, a fix that can also be done on a
unit with a broken tab. Now it won't ever break, and all the extra broken
buttons are still potentially-functional spare parts.

with 1962 and probably 1963. 1963 has a "park lever", but I think that the
push bottons are the same.
