The late '63 or 64 and newer heads have six attachment points for the leaking
valve covers that will still leak or seep any ole way ( but not as much or
often ). The valve covers used through the 66 model year Imperial will hold the
spark plug wires out as your present assembly. Starting in 1967 the Imperial
wires were routed different.

You did not mention anything about the cam. If you change the cam bearings,
then you are going to change the cam. The best cam for your heavy car is the
RV/ torque cam offered by MoPar Performance ( # P4286675 260/260 @ .430 lift
). Other cams may seem tempting but the best bang for the buck is above due
to your weight.

The intake manifold was designed for torque also. Don't make the mistake of
paying for a newer intake manifold for the carb has a differant bolt pattern
and neck size. You will be trying to re-do the linkage and looking for a air
cleaner housing that is large enough for the carb neck.

The one thing that you can do is to switch the exh manifolds for the late
model big block trucks on the drivers side ( they are center dump as your car is
now ) and the matching in design that came on the last years of any MoPar
big block regular 400 or 440. If you do this you will not be able to use the
gen and then you must go to the alt if yours is a real early issue.
