Re: IML: 1970 for Sale near Quincy, Illinois

Sounds very nice. I'd be amazed if he got anywhere near that price, regardless of condition. For better or worse, those years haven't found their place yet & usually go cheap.

Subject: IML: 1970 for Sale near Quincy, Illinois

While in Quincy Illinois last week I assited a couple
of guys get a Cadillac back on their trailer. They
had just about dumped it while driveing over a
Mississippi River bridge. I quickly learned that they
were derby people. I told them that I was morally
opposed to such activities, since I restore Imperials.
They quickly told me of a local Imperial for sale.
Sure enough, I found a 1970 4 Dr that is owned by a
mechanic who worked at the local Chrysler dealer. It
is green with a ivory top and a green leather
interior. The car was definitely show quality. All
one really needed to do was to remove the chrome tips
on the exhaust and put some proper mufflers on it. He
is asking $8,500. for it , but was negotiating with
me. It is beyond my price range and not my favorite
year. He has a 440 out of a 1967 Charger (375 hp
version) with a 727 attachd. Think he wanted $1,800
for that. Car is at Boards Tire & Auto in Marblehead,
Illinois, 217-223-6361. Quincy is near Hanilbal, MO.
