I suspect that your car got around 14 miles per gallon if you were to convert your calculation from liters to gallons. That would still seem lean to me during the break in of a new engine, as this requires speed variation which is not consistent with good gas mileage.

One quart of oil in 300 miles of driving seems high, but could be due to rings not seating, or break in. The amount of blue smoke from that much oil consumption would not necessarily be noticible from the exhaust.

If you are using 10/30 with a new engine, this would not be alarming to me unless it didn't get better in the next 500 to 1,000 miles. Once settled it shouldn't use more than a quart in 1,500 miles. All bets are off if you were driving at sustained high speeds.

By the way, did you retain the original crank case ventilation system, or convert it to a pcv system? If converted to pcv, check it out thoroughly as you could be sucking it through due to a problem there.
