Hey, what is up with you guys? I had a 62
Imperial 4-door Hardtop in black, and it had VOGUE tires on it. Yes, they
had diamond patterns, white wall and a gold wall too. They were all the
rage and were high as heck, and made for a guy calling himself Vogue Tire Co.
and I think they might have been sold in the Chicago area. They were not
much of a tire, actually, being totally useless in the rain. My car just
about swapped ends on a city street, just rounding a corner, and they were
practically new when I purchased the car. If you will check some of the
older cars running around now with younger people driving them, you will see
your tires on their 'cruisers' or pimpmobiles. They are in such high
demand that they are once again being produced in many sizes. If you have
a cadillac with a false convertible roof, called a 'rag', you too can fit these
tires to your car. Good luck, and happy motoring. Oh, and the
Chrysler dealer who serviced my car regularly told me to wear them out and get
some real tires for my car. Please! I hope noone is offended by this
little piece of history, as it was not my intent, as I merely wanted to enhance
the knowledge base.
