RE: IML: 63 carb PCV hose?

First mandatory year for a PCV valve is '63, I believe. My '60 did not have
it and I was scared sh, well scared when I say faint smoke emerging from the
hood. That car had Negative Crankcase Ventalation. In '63 PCV valves were
on all new cars sold in the US, again to MY understanding.

1965 California set standards for emissions for cars sold in that state. My
'66 was equipped with "California Emissions Standards", or some such
language. CA set the stage for all to come over the next several years.
They still do. Without CA insisting at a certain percentage of cars sold in
CA were electric or hybrid cars by 2003 we go the Prius, and Honda hybrids.
Ford is using the Toyota setup to meet their requirements.
