I had my 82 Imp (stock EFI) purring like a kitten, then did not run it for a week or so. You guessed it, it turned over, then refused to start. After checking all the usual things, everything OK, I checked the spark at plug #1. It's there but very anemic, next check, battery voltage, only a little over 12 volts. Checked the plug, it's wet with fuel. Recharged battery, voom, it started! Since the battery was replaced 10/04, I would think the 23 year old ignition coil is the culprit. My other Mopars start at 10 below with much weaker batteries. Can anyone please recommend a higher energy coil, or should I stick with one meeting original specs?
