Re: IML: 61 Transmission Build Date



Yes, you can tell the model year from the engine number, and starting in the
early 1960's the date of assembly.   But you cannot verify that engine came
from the factory in that car.   There are no numbers stamped on the engine
that correspond to any numbers stamped on the body or any tag attached to
the body.
