<SNIP>"Replacing a thermostat is a relatively easy task" OK, I call BS on this! Actually it wasn't too bad once I found a flex head wrench to get to the bolt under the compressor to remove the housing! Any other suggestions on this JIC I have to do this again?? <SNIP HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH (hysterically clutching sides, rolling on floor in agony) My advice is to stock up on Bandaids and bactine before you do this. Three 3/8 drive extensions and two knuckle joints, plus a modicum of cussing. Wish I'd hd a crowsfoot but am not sure it would have helped much. I think it was the Words of Power that did it, finally.
