I had this happen with my '67 Convertible!  It turned out to be the 
turn-signal switch frying itself.

The fantastic 6 stop lights look great on this car, but they sure put a 
load on the little contacts in the switch.  Check your brake and turn 
signals.  I'll bet they aren't working.
