The pedal has very little travel on both of my 60's. The pedal should feel 
quite solid. If you have good pedal without the booster, there has to be 
something wrong with the booster. Do you detect any vacuum leaks in any of 
the hoses or in the booster reserve tank? I'm assuming you have the brakes 
properly adjusted already & good linings & drums.
