Re: IML: More 60 Brake help- going crazy!

The pedal has very little travel on both of my 60's. The pedal should feel quite solid. If you have good pedal without the booster, there has to be something wrong with the booster. Do you detect any vacuum leaks in any of the hoses or in the booster reserve tank? I'm assuming you have the brakes properly adjusted already & good linings & drums.

Subject: IML: More 60 Brake help- going crazy!

Okay everyone, I know I keep bugging everyone, but this problem is still
driving me up the wall. I rebuilt MC 3 yrs ago and less than 500 miles. I used
silicon grease around the bleeder screws to stop bleed by. Then I used a
handpump style brake bleeder at each wheel cylinder to breed the brakes. I had the
wife at the MC pouring fluid in steadily as I went. I flushed the whole
system out with new fluid. Without the booster pedal is hard, usually requires a
second pump to get a great pedal, but still not soo hard I cant stop. With the
booster the pedal seems too easy, but still grabbing only about 1/2 inch off
the floor. Now being only 32 years old, I never knew how these pedals felt
new, but It seems a little weird they should have such a long pedal stroke
before stopping. Can anyone with a working 56-61 with the stock setup tell me
how far and how solid the pedal should feel with the booster working!?!? I cant
think of anything else I can do, I mean its not like the fluid is completely
leaving the lines between each pedal pump, and the system is semi vented
around the MC cap(no rubber seal around screw down bolt), and everything else
is new. Any help is soo greatly appreciated as I am going crazy here!!!!!!
