This is a subject that goes around and around every month or two.  Have the 
muffler shop use pipes that are the size of the exhaust manifold outlet.  The 
muffler is of the same diameter and as long as the space permits.  If you use a 
single system then have the shop think of the system slightly different when 
the two sides are joined together.
