IML: Chrome and powdercoating

I want to know if you can blast a part and coat it while you leave a chrome section of the part chrome? Will 400 degrees kill the chrome?
2ND- I have a part that paint over the chrome but I think that the chrome may be OK, how can I remove it and not kill the chrome? Paint stripper?
