Re: IML: PCV valve cover grommet Part Number

Thanks, Dick. Jim caught my mistake on the last number of the grommet. It is the same number on my 1968 valve cover's original, but brittle grommet.

I'm ordering two grommets from Jim, plus a N.O.R.S. valve. As I noted in my e-mails to both of you, I'm concerned about having the right type of PCV valve due to the possible consequences of installing a correct appearing part that doesn't have the proper "flow characteristics." As I noted to you off list, the wrong PCV valve can cause all sorts of nasty oil leaks due to pressure building up in the crank case.

Thanks again.

Ken, the part number is 2536 926, probably the same for 68, but no guarantee!

The PCV valve itself is 2808 622, and this valve is used on all Mopars in 1967, probably for many other years also, 62 and up (61 in CA).

I?ve taken the liberty of posting this to the rest of the group also, as there has been some discussion of these parts lately.

Hi Dick,

Would you have a '68 parts manual? I need the part number for my 440's PCV valve.

Thanks in advance.

K.
