Brian That engine has all the signs of being a 57 290HP FURY block. Casting matches with other 57 FP31s As I said this is NOT scientific ,,,,I am still waiting for more 'origional' FLP8s to advise their casting #s,, but that is how it looks for now. I agree with John Paxos,,,,spend the $45 wait 3 weeks and get the Build sheets. Your vin and paint look right on. I have my 57 for only one day and I'm still all over it looking for signs of its history. As I said, its FP31 is long gone,,replaced by a P318. I understand your quest for origionality!!! I feel the same!!,,,but don't down play the FP31. Many believe it was truly a 'stronger ' built engine than the FLP8.
