Brian The part # for a 57-58 fury 318 engine assy. is 1752 443. The only difference that I am aware of is the crankshaft. 57 is #1732 611, 58 is #1827 435. The later is designated as a change or addition in the book. As we know the 57 used a Canadian truck crank. If you look in the Hollander it interchanges the 318 crank from 57 to the end of the 318 poly head. I suspect the reason the crank may have been changed in '58 is the '57's were prone to throw rods. I purchased my '57 from the daughter of the original owner, threw rods twice, second time it was parked[1966]. I bought it that way around 1980, still setting in the garage. I know another man had one new, threw a rod, dealer installed a new engine.
