Paul Readers are probably getting tired of this topic,,,but in closing allow me to add my 58 POLY to the tally. When I bought it in 1966 my FLP8 was knocking like a woodpecker. Another couple miles and I would have kissed the block goodbye! It had 48K miles on it. Other than sick engine it was a beauty! Got it for $100 ED ----- Original Message ----- From: Paul A. Unfortianatley the original owners son in law of my car thru the crank out. I used a '58 crank, since it listed as an interchange. The '58 LP2 crank I used was forged. I am still a believer that the '58 could possibly be a better crank. I never new of any throwing rods. A man I now that had a '58 from almost new took it in for service and the mechanic took it for a ride and blew the hood open!!
