Location: D-70199 Heslach | I have found here in Germany an 1957 DeSoto Brochure which I never seen before (Because of my preference, I thought I had seen them all long ago) missing
The brochure is in englisch language and the Publisher is in Panama from chrysler western hemisphere corporation (a wonderful play on words)
The brochure features Fireflite, Firedome, Firesweep AND Diplomat Deluxe and Custom, so this is an export brochure for sure
Anyway. There are two facts on this brochure
First, there was a dealer in Cologne Germany these days called Zentra Auto Handels GmbH at Humboldtstraße 48 in Cologne
the stampind say Alleinimporteur for Desoto which means Sole importer for Desoto, together with BMW and Fiat under the same roof,- funny.
I don't find any more informations from this dealer, I will check if some of my mopar friends from Cologne find out more.
Second the fact for long wheelbase Station Wagons,
they wrote in the brochure "Space Saving Tire Storage - in right-rear side panel"
That storage was only available on the short base Station Wagons, like Dodge and Plymouth, but never on Fireflite,- so the brochure advertises with false information, or the authors were simply ignorant.
Is there anybody whose ever seen that brochure or anybody whose have a spare tire at right rear side panel in an Fireflite of NewYorker Wagon build in 1957

Location: Bjorneborg, Finland | That export sales catalog is not unknown for me... I bought it along with a similar size 57 Chrysler/Plymouth export catalog from Ron Magnuson, Oregon in the late 80's. Both in perfect condition and in English language.
Publisher was in Detroit too, Chrysler Corp Export Division was there.
This '57 Chrysler brochure doesn't mention the spare tire location on a New yorker wagon. All what I can say, that these sales literature items were designed and printed before the 1957 model year production started, so there
could be changes made on cars afterwards and the result is inaccurate information.
