Trying to see if there’s any interest out there to take on a 4-door 60 DeSoto sedan project before the car becomes a parts car or derby car for someone (I wouldn’t derby it). I saw where a nice running 59 DeSoto 4-door was sadly parted on here so I’m guessing folks generally don’t want a 4-door project.
This is a complete car minus a couple things that I can see, but could be worth driving for someone who wants a patina car, and to get in to one of these and drive as is. The back story:
This car spent its life in NY with one family. I got it from the grandson and being from NY I have no title. Most of the time it was in a barn just sitting. It must have been a dirt floor barn and as a result, the frame has some rust-through spots. Whether any of it needs patching, I don’t know, it’s possible that it’s not a structural issue but I don’t have experience in this area. Glass is all there and I see no cracks. Interior looks to be somewhat decent, though the headliner is trashed. Floors and trunk have some holes. This car was a rescue, I hauled it from NY to VA to try and pass it on to someone who might want to get it running and drive it. I have other projects…
Paint code C, Jamaican Blue. Two tone blue interior. Manual crank windows. I removed the plugs and put transmission oil in the cylinders but so far it doesn’t want to start moving with a strap wrench on the crank pulley. I don’t think I can change my jpeg iPhone photos to jpg so probably can’t post photos here… car looks cool and actually presentable in terms of a patina driver; it is currently under a carport with a cover to try and keep it clean and dry. $1500. I’ll see if I can get a picture attached. Car does roll. Has original aluminum key.

Try creating a google photos album. Then post a link to it here.
