Location: So. Cal | Typical BBC over-hyped nonsense. The commentary at the end sequence was quite ridiculous. If it wasn't for the great scenes of early '60's America & automobiles that he was complaining about, it would be completely worthless. Especially in regards to the automobiles, which were mostly being recycled. But "green" tree huggers today have completely lost sight of the whole concept of maintaining old things to keep them functioning. We are the ultimate recyclers, keeping and using these old cars instead of purchasing new masses of plastic & copper.
In my view, it's the plastics which really deserve the scrutiny of halting production unless a good recycling plan is in place and implemented. There's way too much plastic being dumped around the world. IMO, no plastic should be produced that can't be recycled cost effectively. If we were wasting more wood products instead of plastics, it wouldn't be nearly as bad for the environment. |

Location: northern germany | That little britisch drama queen fails to see the connection between American way of living/free spirit and the resulting car design (back then) that saved His ss from speaking German barely 20 years earlier. I really do "Like" such bold criticism for that reason and as if british cars were any better. Aamof, about any of those " cumbersome monsters" would leave about any british car in the dust
Btw, fantastic pictures of googie Roadside architecture from America in its prime, or just a few years later. Man, would love to get into a time machine and snatch that 60 Dart coupe away from the crusher

Exactly, and it is oil based too. Once oil is gone or scarce, there is still no solution for it. It would basically mean the end of civilisation as we know it, so it should be used with that in mind |
