Sorry it's not in colour but this is what is in the 1957-58 Plymouth Factory Service Manual (FSM):

The PN for the switch is 1770 151 (1770151 when searching) and it appears to be a rotary type switch wherein various contacts are
made internally, based on the position of the switch, similar to how our ignition switches work.

The last images are that of an eBay 57-58 Chrysler headlight switch that has been rebuilt, showing the internal components.

The light switch schematic is of a 1955 Era light switch that is probably a Chev *BUT* it shows very much similar to the Mopar switch, including
the variable resistance panel light dimmer component(s).
