Location: Wyoming | While there are many super helpful people on this forum and a wealth of combined knowledge here, I often find that original questions/posts often don’t actually get answered. Those responding seem to get hung-up on picking apart someone’s question/phrasing or their use of less-than-exact wording because maybe the original poster is new to the FL world or otherwise doesn’t have some piece of the vocabulary ‘correct’ enough.
I’m sure there are lots of ways to go about this, and I’d encourage people here to try to focus on actually helping those posting to get an answer, rather than focus on semantics, implying they are wrong, or belittling someone for their ‘perceived’ lack of knowledge. Sometimes people responding will regurgitate everything they know on the topic without actually answering the question. Other times the responder will berate the initial poster. None of this is helpful and it only discourages people from using this forum, and saving/appreciating these wonderful cars.
I can’t tell you how many times I’ve personally been super frustrated with the ‘non-answer’ to my own questions here, and instead feel like either I’m drowning in response minutiae (none of which addresses my question) or feel like the responses are just mocking my ‘ignorance’ for even asking. |

If this happens so often, that you feel urged to even start a thread about it, I'm pretty sure you can link a couple of examples? Thank you. |

Location: The Centennial State | I think it is a good and valid reminder. This website is a shadow of its former glory - this may be one of the reasons, but certainly not the only culprit. |
