Those should work. I have 235/70/15 tires on my '60 Chrysler without issues, and my friend has the same tires on his '58 Chrysler.
My tires with 28" diameter are slightly taller than yours at 27.9" diameter.

I replaced my 14" tires with white wall 15" and found out the hard way that if you go too wide, you cant get them on and off the back without taking the air out....note to self...:)

As long as you aren't using those Monroe overload shocks, you should be able to remove the tires just by lifting the car by the frame instead of under the axle. I have 275-60-15's on the back of my '58 Dodge and can get them off and on this way. But if you are using those overload shocks, it can be difficult, and you may need to remove one end of the shock first.

I have used this brand and size for many years on all my cars with out issue, they replace the Bias ply nicely for looks and size.
Fitment on and off the car has been as per the std factory tire/rim combos, and in all cases i am using the 50/60s 14 x 6.5" rims.
Whilst Cokers have drawn some adverse comments, i have not had a usability issue them at all , how ever they have on occasion gulped up some tire weights
to get them well balanced, plus they are expensive when no other option is readily available in that size as a WWW radial
