Hi fellas. My 57 Windsor is a Canadian car, and the engine number stamped on the top front of the block is C75-2975C.
Can anyone give me some insight on that number? I’m assuming the Canadian cars got different numbers than US engines; probably what the C stands for?

Not sure about Canadian = different engine but maybe.

The C75 = Windsor or Saratoga, with a Spitfire 354 poly (New Yorker got the 392 Firepower Hemi (dual rocker))

In the US, the Windsor got a 2 bbl carb and 285 hp and the Saratoga got a 4 bbl and 295 hp.

Your engine is most likely a 2 bbl Spitfire. The final C might be some subtle difference between US 2 bbl
Spitfire and the Canadian Spitfire.

Turns out the US built 57 Windsor engines had numbers that started WE571001 so your engine number is for sure for the Canadian market.

Bill Watson would probably know way more and better but he is out of commission at the moment.
