Extreme Veteran Posts: 453 Location: Ohio | Parting Out a 1960 Dodge Station Wagon The car has 318 poly with factory Power Brake and A/C. All of the related underhood components for those systems are still in place. If looking for moldings, or other parts inquire I have a lot of the "wagon ONLY" moldings and other parts available already off the car or from other wagons. Front and Rear seats (2nd row). The front benchseat is the "high back" style Drivers side. Expert Posts: 2055 | . Is it Pioneer Wagon or Phoenix Wagon? According to the narrow rear fender moulding, it is a Pioneer… Although an all-vinyl blue trim (code 170) are the same both… Could you post the data tag picture here, please?

Exner Expert 10K+ Posts: 10228 Location: Lower Mainland BC | frwl - 2024-02-18 10:11 AM Is it Pioneer Wagon or Phoenix Wagon? Igor: I don't think there was a 1960 Phoenix wagon. Dart Seneca, Dart Pioneer, Matador and Polara but no Phoenix, at least according to the 1960 Dodge wagon brochure: https://www.lov2xlr8.no/brochures/dodge/60dwag/60dwag.html Based on the hood badge, the grill and the side trim (now missing), I think the wagon in question was a 60 Dodge Dart Pioneer. Extreme Veteran Posts: 453 Location: Ohio | The wagon being parted out is a Pioneer. There was NO Phoenix model / trim level offered on the 1960 Dodge wagons. The information provided in the above post with the factory literature shows the correct model line-up. If interested in any parts from the wagon inquire. As stated in original post have a lot of the 1960 Dodge wagon only moldings even if its not shown / on the car now.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 7211 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | All you Nay-Sayers stating there were never any Phoenix wagons built ---- there were actually 320 built for the Canadian Market.... badged as "Phoenix Sport Suburbans" and strangely they had Matador / Polara body side trim, Dart Grille, and Matador / Polara tail lights with a Plymouth interior. Here are production records -- 3 four door 6 passenger wagons, 6 cylinder 195 four door, 6 passenger wagons, V-8 1 four door, 9 passenger wagon, 6 cylinder 121 four door, 9 passenger wagons, V-8 Here is the reasoning behind building them with Matador / Polara Trim: Dart Phoenix models were not officially built as station wagons for the USA market, but production records indicate that Total 320 were actually assembled. One source (Mr. Gregory Mansell), confirmed by Bill Watson, of Vancouver, BC, Canada says that these wagons were built specifically for the Canadian market, since there was no happy medium between a lower priced Pioneer wagon and the upmarket Polara hardtop wagon. Since the Matador was not available in Canada, the solution was to badge this wagon as a Phoenix. Unfortunately, all Dart wagons, like Matadors and Polaras, were built on the 122 inch wheelbase. The rear fender opening on the 122" w.b. cars was several inches HIGHER than the fender opening on the non-wagon Darts, which were built on the 118" w.b. The double molding with the bright trim insert used on Phoenix sedans, hardtops and convertibles therefore, could not be applied to the wagons, as there was not enough room above the fender opening because the horizontal ridge where the mouldings were applied was too close to the top of the fender for it to fit on the wagons. This was not a problem with either the Seneca or Pioneer wagons, as they did not use this double moulding with the bright aluminum insert. The solution: These Canadian Phoenix wagons had Polara / Matador side trim and taillights installed, and were dubbed "Phoenix Sport Suburbans"! These photos are taken from a Canadian brochure. You can confirm this is a Dart by the script on the tailgate which matches the written "Dodge" script on the Darts. On Matador and Polara, "Dodge" was spelled out in block letters on the tailgate. The frontal shot shows the Dart grille installed on what would otherwise be a Matador Wagon. The interior is straight out of a Plymouth. Note the red lenses in the fins - these were not available on production models - a chrome insert was placed in the area as it was too hard to get into the area to replace bulbs. So these photos below are dealer brochures and 5 pictures of one known to exist, in Europe somewhere. You can clearly see the Canadian data tag that it is a PD-4 which designates a Phoenix V-8.
